One of the questions we get asked the most here at Affinitech has to do with security surveillance systems. “How do I know if my business needs one?” It’s a great questions. After all, it doesn’t make sense to spend money on something you won’t get any use out of. That wouldn’t be helpful to you or to your business.

Does your business need security surveillance systems?

We get it, spending money on security surveillance systems when you’re a small business owner can be a bit of a challenge. Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

  • Does my business have a problem with theft? If the answer is yes, investing in a surveillance system makes complete sense. Concerned that people are covertly stealing? You’ll know for sure (and you’ll have evidence!) if this is the case and you can then take preventative measures.
  • Do I trust my employees? Everyone hopes that their employees will act the same way regardless of whether the boss is there or not. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. If you’d like to keep an eye on what goes on at your store when you’re not around, a camera is the best way to do it.
  • Do I know how when it’s busiest? You probably have a good idea of when your business sees the most traffic, but sometimes simply going over the video can give you a better idea of when you’re likely to see customers and when it’s likely to be slow. This allows you to plan coverage accordingly.
